Hello, my name is Selene Starskiff, but people call me by my nickname, Kagami. I don't really care if you call me Kagami or Selene, it's still who I am. I've kept a journal of my latest adventures and the friends I made along the way. I also have a list of my powers so, well I wouldn't forget what I can do.

Powers/Abilities

I've been gifted these elemental powers by my mentor, Athena Storm.
Let's see, well it includes fire, water, ice, lightning, earth, wind, light, and shadow. However I'm only skilled in fire and a bit of shadow at the moment.But I've also been blessed with another power, the Flames of Rebirth, that's right, from the Phoenix herself. Real quick, my mom took me to the Phoenix to bless me. She wanted her flames to protect me as I go through life. So now I'm able to use the Phoenix's flames to protect and defend.
Because of this, my left arm has a flame mark that covers my arm from my fingers licking up to my elbow. It glows with warmth and it signifies my bond with the Phoenix.These flames allow me to use powerful fire that is only meant to defend. And I can heal with these flames too. That's all I know I can do for now.

Let's see...well to start off, I grew up in Xak Tural, specifically a land called, Shaaloani. My parents and sister and I had a pretty happy life all things considered. Had everything we needed, didn;t need that much more, lived in a land filled with generous and helpful people. We often times traveled across the bridge to Yok Tural for some shopping and I even met the Dawnservant, he was great. Mom taught me how to use a katana and Dad taught my sister how to hunt. Although, I'm the one who did most of the hunting out of the two of us while Yuuki dipped her hands into engineering, helping with the development of the train over there. I had a deep bond with my mom, she was an adventurer, a huge one at that. Dad on the other hand was one of the soldiers protecting Tulliyolal from threats, he was renowned for being one of the greatest, until he met my mom and they had us, living a peaceful life and retired from their adventurous life.One day, I was all by myself at a lake, just minding my own business when a group of bandits came and bullied me, demanding to see my mother. I didn't give in, mom thought I should have, but I knew with an adventurer like her, she'd probably make some enemies. They were hurting me and beating me up before my mom came and unleashed her magic and cut them down, all but the leader of this group. He cut her down right in front of me, I watched as she fell in front of me. This man, he told me to never be a hero and that this is what a hero gets for putting their nose into business they shouldn't be in. I was terrified and I cried at my mom on the ground. The man left and my mom, still drawing breath, told me not to listen to brutes like him. She said that I can be the hero of my dreams one day and that I should push through of any difficulties. She told me not to cry and that her time on this star has come to an end and it's my turn to move forward and live my own life and be the hero I've dreamt to be. After that, she passed away in my arms and I couldn't help but cry for hours until my dad and sister came and found me. They both saw my mom's lifeless body in my arms and they quickly brought her back home and buried her.After I recovered from that traumatic event, I set off on a boat to Eorzea with my mother's katana in hand. During that ride, I couldn't help but silently sob all the way there, holding her katana in my arms tightly. When I got to Eorzea, I started to use this katan to help people, starting in Thanalan. I helped a lot of people from bandits, carrying my mother's legacy in my mine. Eventually, I came across a flyer for recruitment of the Mystic Knights and thought to myself, "This is the next step I should take. Join a heroes guild and help people in their name." I know that's what my mom would have wanted me to do, so I joined up and ever since, I've never been happier to be among people like me, building friendships and battling baddies. This....is how my life finally started.

Information

I'm pretty energetic and down to earth. I like to help people as much as I can, one reason I have these powers in the first place. Although I lack a sense of focus, is what my mother always told me but I know I have a lot to learn if I want to be like her. I'd have to work on my flaws if I want to be an Adventurer but I have the determination to keep going. No matter how much I fall, I always find a reason to stand back up. Many call me stubborn or stupid but I believe that if anyone can get back up, then they can go anywhere.
I am always willing to help anyone in need, no matter the cost.

Asuna Storm - Best friend
When I joined up with the Mystic Knights, Asuna and I bonded over a lot of girl stuff. She taught me the basics of cooking and she helped me with learning some of my powers and took me shopping. We became best friends and Asuna is the best friend I've ever had.

Selene Storm - Best friend
Selene was the one I talked to to get in with the Mystic Knights. She's made sure I was safe and in one piece every day. She's a great friend. We've went on countless quests together and fought side by side together. Selene is amazing to have in my life. She's also the reason for the nickname just to keep the confusion at bay with our similar names.

Yuuki Starskiff - Younger Sister
Yuuki and I go way back, obviously, only about a few years younger than I am. We grew up together in Shaaloani with our parents. Mom taught me how to use a sword and Dad taught her how to hunt. She's really into engineering and steampunk stuff. She even helped in development of the train back in Tural. Between us, she's the smarter one, but I'm the strongest one. Don't tell her that I said that. Either way though, I'm pretty protective over her. I love her to death and I can't wait to see what she can do when she gets off Tural.

Athena Storm - Mentor/Mother figure
She's the one who share her powers with me, allowing me to be the hero I've wanted to be. She's very motherly and took me in basically as her daughter figure. She's the founder of the Mystic Knights and has been teaching me a lot of things. I trust her the most with anything.
